The Commission register gives the company account number 43173 and a head office at Dragonara Business Centre in St. Julians, Malta. Its summary shows one trading name, two domain names, no premises and no regulatory actions, and 10bet is the single trading name, listed as active.Sources: Gambling Commission; Gambling Commission
The entry holds three remote licences, each marked active from 17 December 2015: casino, general betting standard on real events, and general betting standard on virtual events. The Commission describes a remote licence as the licence required for any gambling provided to players online or by other remote means.Source: Gambling Commission
On 16 February 2023 the Commission announced that Blue Star Planet Limited, trading as 10Bet, would pay £620,000 after an investigation revealed social responsibility and anti-money laundering failures. The release says all of the money would go to socially responsible causes and that the failings are set out in a public statement.Source: Gambling Commission
The register entry we read shows no regulatory actions against Blue Star Planet Limited, even though the Commission announced the settlement in 2023. We did not establish why the register page is empty, and we are not drawing a conclusion from the difference. Both statements are on Commission pages we read.Sources: Gambling Commission; Gambling Commission

Where you can and cannot use it
Great Britain: yes. The Commission register lists 10bet as a trading name and 10bet.co.uk as an active domain of a licensee holding three remote licences.Sources: Gambling Commission; Gambling Commission; Gambling Commission
Ireland: the register lists www.10bet.ie as an active domain of the same licensee, and the archived terms name it as part of the website. That is a Commission page, which covers Great Britain, so we cannot say from it whether 10bet holds an Irish licence.Sources: Gambling Commission; 10bet
The archived terms define an excluded territory as anywhere other than the United Kingdom, the Isle of Man, Jersey, Guernsey or Gibraltar, and say a person resident or located in one may not take part. Those terms come from the October 2021 copy.Source: 10bet
We did not check the Malta, Ontario, Ghana or Nigeria registers for 10bet, and make no claim about licences there.Source: Gambling Commission
Payments and withdrawals
The archived terms, from a copy of October 2021, say 10bet may run external credit and affordability checks on customers with authorised third-party credit agencies, and that customers who deposit with debit cards may face extra identification checks, including a copy of the card and proof of address.Source: 10bet
They state a standard minimum withdrawal of £1, no charge for withdrawals to online payment services or UK debit cards, and that all withdrawals go back to the payment method used to deposit. A bank transfer must go to an account in the same name used at registration.Source: 10bet
The terms say withdrawal timeframes depend on the payment method, are indicative, are given in business days and are estimates only. Withdrawal also requires that payments into the account have cleared and have not been charged back, and that verification checks are complete.Source: 10bet
In Great Britain, licence condition 6.1.2 bars credit-card payments for online betting, and condition 17.1.1 requires a customer's name, address and date of birth to be verified before the customer gambles. It also says a withdrawal request must not trigger a new information requirement the licensee could have asked for earlier.Sources: Gambling Commission; Gambling Commission
Licence condition 4.1.1 requires customer funds to be held in a separate client bank account or accounts, and condition 4.2.1 requires the terms to say whether customer funds are protected on insolvency. The archived terms say customer funds sit in a Barclays account, which they describe as medium protection.Sources: Gambling Commission; Gambling Commission; 10bet
Limits and safer-gambling tools
The archived responsible gambling policy offers deposit limits that are daily, weekly or monthly, counted on a 24-hour, 7-day and 30-day basis. A customer may have only one deposit limit at a time, and limits are offered when the account is first registered.Source: 10bet
It says an increase or complete removal of a deposit limit only takes effect after a 24-hour cooling-off period, while a decrease applies immediately. We could not read the current limit settings, so we cannot say whether this still holds.Source: 10bet
The policy offers time-outs of 24 hours, one week, one month, six weeks or another period up to six weeks. It says a time-out applies to the customer's other accounts with the operator, including other brands, and that the account is reactivated automatically when the period ends.Source: 10bet
Self-exclusion periods run six months, one year, two years, five years or any other period over six months. The policy says self-exclusion is applied to the customer's accounts with the operator's other brands and that the account is not reactivated automatically afterwards.Source: 10bet
After a self-exclusion ends, the archived text says reactivation happens only at the customer's request and only after a further 24-hour cooling-off period. It points UK residents to GAMSTOP, which it calls a free service for self-excluding from online gambling companies licensed in Great Britain.Source: 10bet
Licence condition 3.3.4 requires every remote licensee to offer a time-out of 24 hours, one week or one month, or another period the customer reasonably requests, up to six weeks. Condition 3.5.5 requires participation in the national multi-operator self-exclusion scheme.Sources: Gambling Commission; Gambling Commission
Condition 3.5.3 requires a licensee to close a self-excluded customer's account, return any funds held, and remove marketing details within two days of the completed notification. The archived help menu also lists a topic called Monthly net loss limits, which we could not read.Sources: Gambling Commission; 10bet
Drawbacks
The £620,000 settlement of February 2023 concerned social responsibility and anti-money laundering failures at the licensee behind 10bet. We did not read the public statement, so we cannot say which controls failed or whether they have since been changed.Source: Gambling Commission
The Commission register shows no regulatory actions for Blue Star Planet Limited, although the settlement was announced. A reader who checks only the register would not see the 2023 settlement, so we cite the press release as well.Sources: Gambling Commission; Gambling Commission
The only 10bet terms we could read are an archived copy from October 2021, with a revision date of August 2020. Limits, fees, payment methods and complaint routes may have changed since, and we have not checked current versions.Source: 10bet
The archived terms state a licence number ending 001, while the Commission register lists the licences under a number ending 024. We did not establish the reason, and a customer should check the number on the live site against the register.Sources: 10bet; Gambling Commission
How it compares
The Commission has announced a settlement with each brand's British licensee. Blue Star Planet Limited, trading as 10Bet, was to pay £620,000 in February 2023, and BV Gaming Limited, trading as BetVictor, was to pay a total of £2m in February 2022.Sources: Gambling Commission; Gambling Commission
Both releases name social responsibility and money laundering failures. BetVictor's also names fairness. The register entries for both companies show no regulatory actions, so for each brand the press release is the only place we found the settlement.Sources: Gambling Commission; Gambling Commission; Gambling Commission; Gambling Commission
The licences differ in range. BV Gaming Limited's entry holds five remote licences, including bingo and gambling software, and lists eight trading names. Blue Star Planet Limited's holds three remote licences, for casino, real-event betting and virtual-event betting, and lists a single trading name, 10bet.Sources: Gambling Commission; Gambling Commission; Gambling Commission; Gambling Commission

If something goes wrong
We did not read 10bet's current complaints page. The archived terms say complaints go by e-mail to a resolution centre or by post to the company's address in Malta, and that 10bet will acknowledge a complaint within 24 hours and aim to resolve it within one month at most.Source: 10bet
The archived terms say that if the customer is not satisfied, the matter may go to IBAS, named as the alternative dispute resolution provider, and describe the service as free of charge. Licence condition 6.1.1 requires a licensee to offer a free ADR route once eight weeks have passed.Sources: 10bet; Gambling Commission
The Commission does not resolve complaints about gambling transactions, so a British customer starts with the operator and can then use the alternative dispute resolution route if the complaint is not resolved.Sources: Gambling Commission; Gambling Commission
UKGC licence: complaints
Complain to the operator first. If it is not resolved within eight weeks, the operator must let you refer the dispute to an accredited ADR provider, free of charge. The Commission says it does not resolve or decide complaints about gambling transactions.

What we could not check
- 10bet's current odds, markets, terms, limits and payment methods. The live site could not be read, and the only copy of its pages was archived in October 2021.
- What the individual failings in the 2023 settlement were. The Commission's public statement was not read, and the press release names only social responsibility and anti-money laundering failures.
- Why the Commission register shows no regulatory actions for Blue Star Planet Limited when a 2023 settlement was announced.
- Why the archived terms print a licence number ending 001 when the register lists licences under a number ending 024.
- Whether 10bet holds a licence in Ireland, Malta or any other market. The register lists 10bet.ie as a domain of the British licensee, and that is all we found.
- The current content of the Monthly net loss limits help topic and whether 10bet still offers the limits described in the archived policy.
